Weird Science?!

A frequent question we get at Interrobang is “how much weight can the Interrobang tonneau cover hold?”  

One of our product reviews laid out this conclusion;

"I had 400 pounds of grandkids play on it with no damage."

We posted a completely unscientific experiment a few months back on the Rivian Forums.

Here is a slightly edited recap:

Short answer is, I still don’t know.

I took the cover off and assembled it on top of some 2x4’s (I didn’t want to break my truck!) and stacked a whole lot of stuff on top of it without finding the breaking point. 

For the test I used 70 gallons of water, a yeti cooler, a huge REI tent, a Snow Peak Octa tarp, an entire Snow Peak kitchen set up, fire pit, and 2 bowling balls before I ran out of heavy stuff in my garage.

My back of the napkin math puts that all somewhere in the 750-800lb range. My guess is the rails will fail before the tonneau does.

Please don't try this foolishness at home.
